Game guidelines

Werewolf is a game about lying, so lie well: inside the game. Outside it, play fair. Every group sets its own rules on top of these, and a group's admins have the last word in their group.

Play for your team and your role

Win the way your role wins. If you are on the village team, play for the village, even if your role could change later: a Wild Child is a villager until their role model dies, and plays for the village until then. Once your role or team changes, play for the new one.

Do not betray your team

Do not throw the game, help the other side on purpose, or vote against your own team to make a point. If you are a wolf, you hunt with the pack. If you are in love, you play for your lover too.

Keep the game inside the game

Talk about the game only in the group and in the bot's chats. Do not share your role, a screenshot of your role message, or anything from a private chat with players outside the game, and do not play one game with two accounts. Claiming a role in the group is fine: bluffing is part of the game.

Team chat

In groups with team chat, your teammates are the only ones who read it, so you may tell them your role there. Players leave the team chat when they die.

Stay quiet when you are dead

Once you are dead, give no hints to the living, in the group or in private. Many groups mute or remove players who talk after their death.

Play your turn

Use your night actions and vote before the timers end. Missing them again and again spoils the game for everyone; the bot keeps count (/myidles) and groups may remove idle players.

Be decent

Accuse the role, not the person. No insults, threats, or harassment, in the game or after it. A game ends; the people in your group stay.

Caught someone cheating?

Someone playing with two accounts, or trying to fake their stats? Report it in the support group, with the group and the players involved. For anything else that happens in a game, tell the group’s admins: each group enforces its own rules.
