The bot can only send you a message after you have started it yourself.
Fix it
Open @blackwerewolfbot (or the bot your group uses), tap Start, and join the next game. If you blocked the bot, unblock it first.
Still nothing?
Check that you are joining with the account you think you are, and ask in the support group if it keeps happening.
